The SAUTER Group has been collaborating with Grupo King since 2024. The acquisition of one of Portugal’s leading suppliers of HVAC and building management systems marks another milestone in SAUTER’s ongoing growth strategy.

Founded in 2013 in Leiria, Portugal, Grupo King is now recognised as one of the country’s leading providers for installation, maintenance and sale of materials for technical building systems. Its primary focus is on building management systems (BMS) and systems for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). The team headed by Managing Director Tiago Trindade now comprises around 170 employees, with branches in Lisbon and Loulé. The company has demonstrated the excellence of its services and innovative building solutions through its successful participation in numerous major national projects, earning a strong reputation throughout Portugal.

Grupo King’s in-depth expertise, proximity to customers and regional presence will further boost SAUTER’s proven and reliable solutions in the Portuguese market. For customers, this means even more reliable and responsive services, a broader portfolio of integrated system solutions and access to innovative, pioneering technology.

“Our integration into the SAUTER Group is in full swing. Both teams are collaborating closely to optimise workflows, share best practices and provide our customers with optimal, turnkey solutions for integrated building systems. This will enhance both the value of our company and its long-term sustainability. We firmly believe that this collaboration marks the start of a new era of growth and innovation, strengthening our market situation and paving the way for an even more promising future.”

A shared focus on sustainability and efficiency

For SAUTER, future-oriented solutions must not only be smart and innovative but also defined by sustainability and energy efficiency. Grupo King wholeheartedly shares this vision. The acquisition thus represents more than just a strategic expansion, it also helps further advance sustainable and efficient buildings for the future. Together, SAUTER and Grupo King are dedicated to rigorously pursuing environment, social and governance (ESG) criteria in order to serve customers as reliable and environmentally conscious partners.

ESG criteria encompass the three pillars of sustainability: Environment, Social and Governance. They reflect how companies embed climate protection, social responsibility and transparent structures in their operations. For investors, partners, and customers, they serve as a benchmark for future viability and reliability – for example, through the use of sustainable materials or targeted reduction of emissions.

What does this mean for the partnership? By combining their expertise and technical know-how, SAUTER and Grupo King will further develop existing products and services while creating innovative new solutions that contribute even more significantly to a responsible future in the real estate sector.

The first joint success

The first joint project is already successfully underway. With an impressive contract volume of €5 million, it once again highlights Grupo King’s technical expertise and strong regional reputation.

Located in Leiria, near Grupo King’s headquarters, GEBI – a centre for healthcare and laboratory equipment – will meet the highest standards of efficiency, safety and sustainability. The facility will be equipped with comprehensive system solutions for state-of-the-art, high-performance building operation. These include cutting-edge HVAC systems and a fully integrated building management system. While Grupo King is planning and implementing the complex HVAC installations, SAUTER Portugal is delivering the required building management system. Spanning nine floors and approximately 12,000 m2, there will be more than 5,000 data points to control around 200 fan coil units. The integrated system design allows automated, highly efficient and reliable building management.

The project is a promising start to a successful partnership between the two companies. It also powerfully highlights their shared commitment to high-performance, efficient system solutions.
