SAUTER laboratory controller: a comprehensive solution for laboratories
An innovation from SAUTER integrates laboratories seamlessly into building management systems and increases energy efficiency, security and comfort. In addition, the comprehensive and open system reduces the time spent on planning and co-ordination when implementing the project.
The regulations for clean rooms, laboratories and hospitals are subject to strict guidelines. As specialists for building management systems and the integration of sub-systems into complete installations, SAUTER has been setting the standard in critical environments – in terms of building automation – for many years now.
Safety and security are top priorities
An inadequate or malfunctioning regulation of the supply and return air can cause sensitive faults to occur in laboratory operation. For this reason, laboratories are usually regulated using negative pressure and are set apart from any neighbouring areas. Nevertheless, it is still essential to integrate the laboratory control system completely and openly into a building management system. A laboratory controller which regulates and monitors the air balance, room pressure, room temperature, window blinds and lighting not only improves the room conditions but also makes sustainable reductions in energy consumption and operating costs.
As a long-standing partner of renowned pharmaceutical companies and research institutes worldwide, SAUTER has the comprehensive know-how, combined with its requisite high-performance and reliable components, to meet the specific requirements of the life sciences and healthcare sectors. The ecos500/502 laboratory controller, used with the SAUTER ASV115 VAV compact controller, provides an integrated solution for maximum safety, comfort and efficiency in laboratories.
Optimum project processing
In order to fulfil both the operator's strict requirements and the legal regulations, fast communication between the individual components is essential. This is why SAUTER relies on the BACnet/IP protocol. The open communication standard enables the entire system – from the fume cupboard to the management level – to be networked easily and adapted to meet the client's particular requirements. SAUTER's GMP-compatible and validatable novaPro Open provides a good overview of the system in operation, plus traceability and security.
All the functions can be efficiently programmed and parameterised on a PC using SAUTER's CASE Suite engineering software. The large solutions library provides numerous templates, which simplify and reduce the planning of the whole system.
