Object Information

In early 2003, the new Town Hall in Benidorm, one of the Costa Blanca’s best known and busiest resorts, was ready. The architecture and especially the building technolgy attracted a lot of media interest. This 100-metre long building (the equivalent of a 35-floor high-rise building) spans a square and is supported by just four columns. This structure stands in direct contrast to usual skyline consisting of high-rise blocks. Sauter’s project involvement was to implement integration technology systems designed for the future.

Challenge/Specialty

After implementing the network infrastructure, installing internet linkage and preventing unauthorised incursions, building management system integration was then implemented.

All installations are monitored and controlled via a uniform user interface, including the interlinkage and inter-system communication, irrespective of the manufacturer and communication interface. The “intelligent building“ concept is responsible for the interlinkage of all installations. The status of every control panel and timed programme can be accessed and uniformly managed. All alarm signals are handled by the system too.
