Object Information
The St. Josef Hospital dates back to the second half of the 19th century when the community of Franciscan nuns from Waldbreitbach in Hermeskeil provided care for patients and training in domestic science for girl school-leavers. In 1904, the hospital was rebuilt at its current premises.
At present, the St. Josef Hospital has five specialist departments with a total of 181 beds. An energy-supply contract over fifteen years has been signed with SAUTER FM.
Task
To reduce heating and energy costs, and to reduce CO2 emissions, the following energy-efficiency measures were introduced:
> Complete renewal of the heat generation system; use of low-temperature boilers with waste-gas heat recovery
> Employment of highly-efficient steam boilers with waste-gas heat recovery
> Generation matched to demand
> Employment of Sauter DDC control system with optimised settings, analysis functions and operational monitoring
> Renewal/optimisation of the hydraulic circuits
> Establishment of an energy-management system: recording of consumption levels; monitoring of the degree of efficiency; assessment of the users of energy
